The Lydian–Persian War was a mid-6th century BC conflict in Anatolia in which the expanding Achaemenid Persian Empire under Cyrus the Great defeated the wealthy kingdom of Lydia ruled by Croesus, leading to Lydia’s incorporation into the Persian Empire.
