Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn Ṭufayl al-Qaysī, better known as Ibn Tufayl, was a 12th-century Andalusian Arab polymath, philosopher, physician, and author of the influential philosophical novel "Hayy ibn Yaqzan."
