Black Loyalist settlement

A Black Loyalist settlement is a community established by formerly enslaved or free Black people who sided with the British during the American Revolutionary War and were subsequently relocated, often to British territories such as Nova Scotia or Sierra Leone, where they formed distinct, self-governing Black communities.
